A good mediator helps participants create useful options and evaluate those options to arrive at the best solution to suit their individual needs. An experienced mediator provides guidance and a path to closure usually in one session, though sometimes additional sessions may be required upon the agreement of the parties.
Mediation used to be considered a voluntary process. Many jurisdictions now require mediation before permitting access to court. With that in mind mediation is a confidential process and a useful means to mutually arrive at satisfactory resolution of legal issues.
Parties are encouraged to reach out ahead of time regarding documents or information helpful in conducting a successful session.
Most mediations are conducted remotely and scheduled for two hours, though sometimes parties request four hour or all day sessions. Your safety and comfort are essential to a successful session. We will strive to make sure these needs are met.
